。疾病的预防很重要，我想说的问题是在这样一个进步的社会里，在这样一个科技昌明的时代，我们如何看待自己健康的问题？
如何才能健康众说不一
人的健康是一个非常重要的问题，如何才能健康呢？这个大家就未必能说完全了。
有人说一定要增加营养。在xx前可能要这样，现在营养的问题不再是增加的问题，而是一个控制的问题，更应该讨论的是营养如何均衡。
现在很流行进补。现在是商业社会，广告上做了很多各种各样保健品的宣传，但中医说虚则补之，所以并不是人人都需要补的。
人的健康不一定是简单的进补和运动的问题，世界卫生组织对于健康有一个基本的估算，指出：健康有15％取决于遗传，10％取决于社会条件，8％取决于医疗条件，7％取决于自然环境，而60％取决于自己习惯的生活方式。
健康长寿取决生活方式
在这里我们需要对健康下一个定义，什么叫健康？很多人说首先是没有病，这是对的。
现在有三种疾病威胁我们的生命，占死亡原因的72％。第一是心脑血管病。第二是恶性肿瘤，第三是呼吸道疾病，除此之外还有肥胖症、骨质疏松症、胆囊炎、胆结石、脂肪肝、肝硬化、抑郁症、慢性传染性疾病等，而这些疾病是40岁以上人的常见病，这些病面广量大，是属于慢性、非传染性疾病。
我们现在的疾病谱与发达国家差不多，但我们的经济水准与发达国家比还差很多，说明这些疾病不是由于经济的原因产生的，我们经济再发展，也不解决疾病的问题。
这些病怎么预防？说到预防，就要讲到传染病上去了。诸位都知道现在不用给小孩种牛痘了。在座的大家可能都种过牛痘，牛痘是用来预防天花的，天花在历史上是一个严重的传染病。
在英国有一位
发现挤牛奶的女孩不会生天花。他就研究，发现牛的肚子上长了水泡，她的手一旦被水泡的浆溅到也会长水泡，但一旦长过水泡后就不生天花了。种牛痘实际上是让我们得了一种牛天花，一旦生过牛天花后就不会
天花了。
我国是在1950年11月由原来的政务院颁布的全国免费种痘条令。中国是世界上最早消灭天花的国家之一，自1961年在广西有一例天花病人后，就再也没有了。非洲在1975年消灭了最后一例天花。1980年5月31日世界卫生组织宣布：全球无天花。1984年开始大家就停止了种牛痘。
我们现在还在给小孩吃糖丸来预防小儿麻痹症。目前虽然国内已经没有这种病症了，但是周边国家还是有，比如巴基斯坦，所以我们还是要吃糖丸，以预防小儿麻痹症。
饮食做到“二多三少”
今天我们讨论的不是传染病，我们要着重讲的这些疾病，像糖尿病、肥胖症、脂肪肝、骨质疏松症等等，不是由病毒引起的，那么这些病症是如何得来的？主要是和我们不良的生活习惯有关系，这中间关系最密切的还是我们的饮食问题。
【优质蛋白质摄入不足】
我们是一个多民族国家，民族不同，饮食习惯也不同，现在主要说说我们汉族的饮食问题。
我们的饮食总体上还是不错的，但是，优质蛋白质的摄入量略嫌不足。人体中的主要组织结构是由蛋白质构成的，人体内有400万亿个细胞，这些细胞不断代谢，而细胞是由蛋白质构成的，所以我们需要不断补充蛋白质。但人体中的蛋白质与吃进去的蛋白质是还是不一样的，吃进去的只是转化为人体蛋白质的原料。
蛋白质是由氨基酸构成的，构成人体的有20几种氨基酸，其中有10多种人体自己能制造，有8种人体不能自身合成，只能直接从外面吸收，所以需要不断从饮食中补充。那么什么样的蛋白质比较好呢？第一，含氨基酸必须要高，第二要容易消化吸收，第三要价格便宜。各种蛋白质比较下来，牛奶的蛋白质是最容易消化吸收的，但中国人均消耗的牛奶只是发达国家的1/50，太少了；还有人统计说，中国人一年消耗的牛奶甚至不如喝掉的白酒多。
【中国人是低钙饮食】
中国的饮食是有点问题的，它是属于低钙饮食。人每天需要800毫克钙，孕妇需要1000毫克，而我们每天的饮食所能获取的钙量只有500毫克，这样日积月累，年纪大了以后，难免出现骨质疏松。其实我们最好的补钙品是牛奶，所以有人说，人啊，最好一辈子不要“断奶”。
大家都知道，日本人是小个子，按照地理位置算，实际上是一个北方的民族，但是现在年轻的日本人比中国人还要长得高。日本卫生署做了一个统计，把1974年出生的人与1954年出生的人进行比较，平均身高长高了10cm。有句话叫做“一瓶牛奶救了一个民族”，我觉得这个说法不一定正确，但是日本人比较讲究饮食的科学性，这是我们应该借鉴的。我们中国的饮食文明享誉全球，但我们注
，不注重营养。
少数人喝牛奶会拉肚子，可以喝酸奶，酸奶除了具备牛奶里的营养之外，还有乳酸菌，可以制造维他命，乳酸菌又称益生菌，是一种利于生命的菌类。
鸡蛋也是很好的营养品，这个大家都知道，但这几年有人说鸡蛋不行了，里面有胆固醇。我要强调的是：鸡蛋里是有胆固醇，但是人也是需要胆固醇的，细胞的膜是胆固醇构成的。有人还研究说，高龄的老人血里胆固醇过低还容易得癌症。这里面就有点矛盾，胆固醇高不好，低也不好，但是，医学是讲一个度，不是绝对说不能吃什么。胆固醇是需要的，假如血脂不高，一天吃2个鸡蛋是没有问题的；假如血脂高了，一周吃4个鸡蛋也就可以了。蛋黄里有卵磷脂，卵磷脂有减轻动脉硬化的作用。
【鱼和家禽比猪肉好】
还有鱼也是很好的，鱼和家禽含有多不饱和脂肪酸。猪肉本身没有什么问题，但是猪肉的脂肪是饱和脂肪酸，会加重动脉硬化。血管中的脂肪太多会动脉硬化，学名叫动脉粥样硬化。动脉粥样硬化是指动脉中有许多像粥一样的脂类物质堵塞在那里，使得血管不通畅结果便使心肌缺血，脑缺血。所以动脉硬化的关键不是在于血管硬不硬，而是在于血管的通与不通，如果血管里都是脂肪，血液流动不畅，问题就很严重了。
人的心脏很辛苦，一刻也不能休息，从在妈妈的肚子里就开始跳动，等出生以后，心脏哪天不跳就完了。人的活动要有能量，当然由心脏提供，而心脏靠冠状动脉提供心肌的血液。人的心脏就像你自己的拳头一样大，心脏的冠状动脉只有3毫米的内径，里面如果再有脂肪栓塞，甚至塞得不通了，心脏肌肉就没有血液供应了，就叫心肌梗塞。
人的大脑大概相当于身体重量的2％，但是耗氧占20％，所以大脑不能缺氧。大脑中动脉提供大脑血液，血管粗细也只有3毫米，如果有脂肪栓塞，造成脑缺血就产生了脑梗塞，引起中风，称缺血性中风。如果前面不通，又因为血压高，后面硬往前挤压，压力增高，血管就爆了，这就引起了脑溢血。如果出血面积很大，就会产生出血性脑卒中，这种病叫心脑血管病。
【每天脂肪摄入多少为好】
现在胆囊炎、胆结石多了，还有脂肪肝，也是由于脂肪吃得太多、油吃得太多引起的。现在大肠癌、乳腺癌的发病率不断增加，主要的原因也是高脂饮食引起的。
倒不是说脂肪不能吃，但是一定要适量。1克糖或1克蛋白质会产生4000卡路里的热量，1克脂肪会产生9000卡路里的热量，那么应该吃多少才是适量的呢？
每人每天脂肪摄入量为：公斤体重数×0.45（克）。
也就是一个体重60公斤的人每天脂肪摄入量不应超过27克，而上海市民的人均脂肪摄入量约为50克，超标一倍。脂肪摄入过多的问题仍没有引起大家足够的重视。
【如何掌握盐的摄入】
盐不能摄入过量，很多人都不清楚。
盐摄入过量跟高血压、脑溢血有关，同时肾炎患者不可多吃盐，因为盐能保留水分，导致肾炎病人水肿加重。
吃得咸的人血液总量会增加10％到20％，对心脏将产生很大的压力。血管受着血压的冲压，吃得太咸，血液量大，血管压力就大了。最新的统计表明，目前我国有18％的城市人口患有高血压，其中40岁以上的人40％有高血压，60岁以上的人60％有高血压。吃得太咸是得高血压的一个重要原因之一。
高血压跟遗传因素有关，跟工作压力大、生活紧张都有关系，但这也不是绝对的，而与我们饮食吃得太咸却是绝对有关的。有些医生看到高血压病人来了就给他开高血压药，但是忘了嘱咐他吃淡一些，这其实是非常重要的。
许多人更不知道，胃病与吃得咸也有关系。胃的粘膜会分泌一层粘液来保护胃粘膜，但粘液怕盐，如果吃得太咸，日积月累，胃粘膜的保护层就没有了，酸甜苦辣吃进去会直接刺激胃粘膜，就会引起胃溃疡、胃炎、胃癌。
每人每天至多只能摄入5克盐，如何掌握？现在中国营养学会调查，北方居民每人每天吃盐15－18克，南方居民每人每天吃盐10－12克，所以北方需要平均减少食盐2/3，南方居民需减少1/3。
过量的饮食易引发糖尿病。其实糖尿病并不是吃糖引起的，而是过量饮食引起的。人们在日常生活中，天天都吃糖，平时吃的米饭、面条都会转化成糖，所以饮食要清淡。现在提倡多吃新鲜蔬菜、水果，每人每天不少于500克，吃饭七成饱就够了。
蔬菜不能代替水果，蔬菜经过加工、烹调之后营养价值会下降。所以每天吃些水果还是必要的。
总结一下，饮食应该“二多三少”，即多吃一些优质蛋白、多喝牛奶。这里特别说一下豆浆比不上牛奶，因为豆浆中蛋白质的吸收不如牛奶好。多吃新鲜水果、少油、少盐、少吃点饭，饮食不过量。

our ancestors liked to build walls. they built walls in beijing, xi’an, nanjing and many other cities, and they built the great wall, which snakes across half our country. they built walls to protect against enemies and evil irits. this tradition has survived to this day: we still have many parks and schools walled off from the public.
for a long time, walls were one of the most natural things in the world to me.
my perceptions, however, changed after i made a hiking trip to the eastern suburbs of my city. my classmates and i were walking with some foreign students. as we walked out of the city, we found ourselves flanked by tall trees, which formed a wide canopy above our heads. suddenly one foreign student asked me, “where is the entrance to the eastern suburbs?”
“we’re already in the eastern suburbs,” i replied. he seemed taken aback, “i thought you chinese had walls for everything.” his remark set off a heated debate. at one point, he likened our walled cities to “jails”, while i insisted that the eastern suburbs were one of the many places in china that had no walls.that debate had no winners, but i did learn a lot from this student. for instance, he told me that some major universities like oxford and cambridge were not surrounded by walls. i have to admit that we do have many walls in china, and as we develop our country, we must look carefully at them and decide whether they are physical or intangible. we will keep some walls but tear down those that impede our development.

a year ago, when i was working on a term paper, i needed a book on business law and found a copy in the law school library. however, the librarian coldly rejected my request to borrow it, saying, “you can’t borrow this book, you’re not a student here.” in the end, i had to end 200 yuan to buy a copy. meanwhile, the copy in the law school gathered dust on the shelf.
at the beginning of this semester, i heard that my university had started to think of unifying its libraries and linking them to libraries at other universities, so my experience wouldn’t be repeated. barriers would be replaced by bridges. an inter-library loan system would give us access to books from any library. with globalization and china integrated into the world, i believe many of these intangible walls will be knocked down.

The whole ecological balance of the earth is changing. Massive destruction of environment has brought about negative effects and even poses a great threat to mans existence.
We must face the situation that exists and take actions to solve our environmental problems. For instance, new laws must be passed to place strict control over industrial pollution, the public must receive the education about the hazard of pollution and soon. We hope that all these measures will be effective and bring back a healthful environment.

There are still many problems of environmental protection in recent years. One of the most serious problems is the serious pollution of air, water and soil. the polluted air does great harm to peoples health. The polluted water causes diseases and death. What is more, vegetation had been greatly reduced with the rapid growth of modern cities.
To protect the environment, governments of many countries have done a lot. Legislative steps have been introduced to control air pollution, to protect the forest and sea resources and to stop any environmental pollution. Therefore, governments are playing the most important role in the environmental protection today.
In my opinion, to protect environment, the government must take even more concrete measures. First, it should let people fully realize the importance of environmental protection through education. Second, much more efforts should be made to put the population planning policy into practice, because more people means more people means more pollution. Finally, those who destroy the environment intentionally should be severely punished. We should let them know that destroying environment means destroying mankind themselves.

About a year and a half ago, I took part in my very first English Speech Contest. When I stood before the microphone with all eyes starring directly at me, I could hardly speak. I stood there, embarrassed and helpless, struggling in vain for the right thing to say. My fears had paralyzed me.
While my passion for English has never changed, I lost my courage to speak in public. When my professor again encouraged me to take part in this Competition, I said “no.” I couldn’t endure yet another painful experience. He looked me straight in the eye and said something that pierced my heart. I will never forget his words. “Look,” he said, “We all have our fears, and you have yours. You could twist your ankle in a basketball game, but then be afraid to ever play again. Running away can never dispel your fears, but action will. A winner is not one who never fails，but one who never quits.”
I spent a whole day with his words twisting and turning in my mind. Then I made the bravest and wisest decision of my life: I would face my fears – and take part in the competition!
As it turned out, my dear old professor was right. Now, here I am, once again standing before a microphone. My heart is beating fast, and my mouth is dry, but most importantly, I have faced my fears -- and that makes all the difference!

Let us now think of the reasons for using dead animals. People often use animals for food, make-up, medicine and especially for the clothes. Fur coats are definitely a luxury. Yes, they are warm but really they are mostly a symbol of wealth. Do you know how much a mink coat cost?
A report said in an open letter published recently, a Dutch animal-rights group has asked their much-loved Queen to stop wearing fur. The Group pointed out that making clothing from fur represents cruelty to animals. “ Fur belongs to animals, not to human beings.”
Nowadays a lot of greedy people hunt and kill wild animals and birds, so as to make money by selling their hides at high prices. This kind of killing should be stopped and seriously punished. If we dont take actions to protect the wild animals and birds, they will soon disappear from the globe. Man will one day find himself a very lonely creature on earth indeed.
Until such a day, when we finally realized that we no longer have these friends or neighbors, what are we human beings going to say? Sorry? No, it is too late to say sorry to them.
Ladies and Gentlemen, please consider what I have said to you this afternoon. Think carefully on whether we really need to use animals for our pleasure if you have come to the conclusion that we are wrong.
