As we know, most knowledge we have comes from two sources: the books or personal experience in our daily life. Each one has its advantage. Maybe some people think that book knowledge is more important than experience knowledge. However, I am strongly against their opinion. I consider that experience is more useful.

Firstly, practical experience can help us find jobs successful. There are two kinds of people: experienced employees and college graduates, if you are a manager, which one do you prefer? There is no doubt that you will choose the experienced employees. Because they have more practical knowledge, they understand what their companies needs and how to make profit for their companies. Some college graduates have learned much book knowledge, but they can’t take advantage of these theories effectively. Therefore, many companies are not willing to employ graduates. This phenomenon tells us experience is more important for us to find good jobs.

Secondly, experience can give us more impressed knowledge. It’s said that one learn by doing, if you want to make advances, it’s necessary to practice. Moreover, we learn how to get along with others or how to have self-respect from experience. We feel happy and sorrow directly from experience. The precious knowledge absolutely can’t get frombooks.

Thirdly, our country’s development depends on innovation, which comes from experimentation. Comparing Chinese education system with American’s, we know that Chinese education usually pay more attention to scores students get and neglect their ability of innovation. The contrast reminds us of the importance of experience knowledge.

Now, when I launched this initiative, I said that government can’t play the primary role in a young person’s life. Taking responsibility for being a great parent or mentor is a choice that we, as individuals, have to make. No government program can ever take the place of a parent’s love. Still, as a country, there are ways we can help support dads and moms who make that choice.

are breadwinners for a family, that benefits men, too. And because no parent who works full-time should have to raise a family in poverty, it’s time for Congress to follow the lead of state after state, get on the bandwagon, and give America a raise.

There’s no better feeling than knowing that we can be there for them, and provide for them, and help give them every shot at success.

Reading the old man and the sea About the author Ernest Hemingway, one of the greatest American writers in 20th century, is the representative of “lost generation” writer. He was born on July 21, 1899, in Oak Park, Illinois. worked as a reporter after graduating from high school in 1917.,amd served as an ambulance driver in the Italian infantry and was wounded just before his 19th birthday. Hospitalized, Hemingway fell in love with an older nurse.

In 1954, Hemingway was awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature. In his life, Hemingway married four times and wrote numerous essays, short stories and novels. The effects of Hemingways lifelong depressions, illnesses and accidents caught up with him. In July 1961, he committed suicide in Ketchum, Idaho.

About the book The old man and the sea is one of Hemingway’s most enduring works. Told in language of great simplicity and power , it is the story of an old Cuban fisherman ,down on his luck ,and his supreme ordeal ---a relentless , agonizing battle with a giant marlin far out in the Gulf Stream . Here Hemingway recasts , in strikingly contemporary style, the classic theme of courage in the face of defeat , of personal triumph won from loss . Written in 1952 ,this hugely successfully novella confirmed his power and presence in the literary world and played a huge part in his winning the 1954 Nobel Prize for Literature .

About the old man Santiago is described as a failure by other fishermen in the village for catching no fish for a long time . However, he should be regarded as a hero all his life , when he had played the hand game with the great Negro from Cienfuegos who was the strongest man on the docks ;when he fight with that large marlin ; when he struggle with the sharks . You can find his optimism, confidence, wisdom, perseverance and bravery anywhere . I admire him not only because these but also his regarding these as the things he had to do , the rules he had to obey . Such a man is really a man , a marvelous man . The electric door guard has replaced the traditional door lady in a dormitory at Shanghai Songjiang University City, within the range of many universities.

In the future, more electric door guards will take the place of door ladies.

The electric door guard operates under an IC card system, with students using IC cards to enter. Each resident student is issued an IC card with his/her personal information stored on it. Information like the card-holding students name, major, grade, and even time of entry will be stored on their IC card. The door has also been equipped with a digital eye to take video 24 hours a day 7 days a week.

With the new door guard already on duty, students began to discuss the pros and cons of the latest renovation to their dorm in community forums.

Some complained that having to take their IC card everywhere is inconvenient, adding that the system is not always reliable. They noted times when the system failed to recognize them and they had to call repair workers to fix it.

Others say the former door lady was more flexible and gave them a sense of home. Sometimes when a student had to stay out late, to study or for other business, the door lady would wait for them and let them in if they told her beforehand. Or when students parents came to visit, the door lady would let them in. But now, all of these conveniences seem impossible.

Still, students admit that the electric door guard is much safer, as it prevents thieves as well as unwelcome salesmen from entering their dorm. In this way, the electric door guard has its own advantages.

The schools authorities say the new system needs some time to improve and that students need time to get used to it. The school has said it will consider the inconveniences brought along with the new door guard and attempt to solve them by other means. On the whole, the new system seems to be good for students living in the dorm building.
